I have read an article of Professor Dr.Krishna Kumar titled "REPAIR &RECOVERY AFTER COVID".This article was published in Education world in June 2021.The author was former director of NCERT.
Post_covid financial crisis of Indian educational institutions are specified in the article.Great need of recovery from this circumstances is underlined by the author.This recovery requires proper imaginative,planning and patience.The author has emphasised on some important aspects which are in need to recovery and repair.
* Early childhood stages children faced malnutrition in early 2020 as the midday meals was stopped due to pandemic.Aftersomewhile Govt continued and find safe way.so need is there to assess the extent of loss and mitigate it's long term.
* about online classes is also a problematic thing for poor children . Whether Teachers can be resume regular post covid future plan is a question the author raise.
*Teacher Training,both pre_service& in_service have been stopped for the past two years.radical changes are need to be taken to improve education system. The author recommended J.SVerma Commission report which is useful to revolute the process.
* Low fee paid by the children effected private schools. Incomes declined .change is a question .
*In higher and Secondary grade number dropped out were increased.Remedial education is needed to bring them back to school.
*Academically damaged students need a fresh efforts to formulate policy to change this crisis.
*Reducing syllabus in higher secondary impacts an undergraduate education.
So the questions & aspects mentioned by the author need revolutionary changes .So the title if the article is apt to this "REPAIR & RECOVERY
The author , Professor Dr.Krishna Murthy suggested a book by the late Muriel was titled " Bricks &Mortar(2021). In this she suggested many insights for improving secondary and post secondary.Her insights are hopes and confidence of early decades of independence.
