      A model Reflection 

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION:

   * Title of the book :"ENVIRONMENTAL STORIES  

   *Name of the story: "The Rhythm of Nature"

   * Author: "Amit Kumar

   * Publications: Tiny Tot Publications

   *Characters : 1)Mohit (a boy of teens)

                             2)His uncle (An entomologist)

    * Location : in a laboratory

 *No of pages :  8( page no 18 to 25)

    CONTENT (Gist of the story) : 

         " The Rhythm of Nature " is a conversation between Mohit &  His uncle who was an entomologist.



           One day Mohit went to his uncle's house .He was an entomologist.Mohit dreamt of very big laboratory techniques and experiments. So he went along with his uncle.That institute (laboratory)had different varieties of plants,trees and flowers. Mohit was surprised to see so many glass boxes contained different kinds of insects and worms.


        Mohit saw a tube-like structure which had honey bees in it . Many doubts arose in Mohit's mind about insects so he enquired his uncle. Mohit's uncle clarified him that there are 2 kinds of insects 

     *Useful :  Eg: Honey bees,ladybugs

      *harmful: Eg: Mosquitoes,Flies

Some insects destroy crops and spread the diseases ,but some others insects hell us in many ways.

        Farmers want the maximum part of their agricultural products .So they use pesticides to kill them but sometimes human also affected by these pesticides.

      Mohit also came to know that insects have tremendous power to fight against the pesticides .They  develop a quick and strong resistance against these chemicals.They transfer this quality immediately to their next generation.So the pesticides may not be fatal for the third or fourth generation of the same species of insects.

    So the scientists are researching over new inventions.For example ,they are trying introduce new genes in mosquitoes and make them weak or make such genetic changes in these.

Moral/Perspectives :

 "Man is not the strongest on the earth.Nature is much stronger than man.Nature controls and balances itself."

Conclusion :
