      Let's Aware of POCSO:




    * The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act is an Indian legal framework enacted in 2012 to address and combat sexual offenses against children.



    POCSO act has come into force with effect from 14th November 2012.

 *It defines various sexual offenses and provides legal procedures for the investigation and prosecution of such cases.




     The key points about POCSO :

1.Scope : POCSO covers all sexual offenses against children under the age of 18, regardless of their gender.

2.Offenses : It defines various sexual offenses such as child molestation, sexual assault, using a child for pornography, and more.

3.Penalties : The Act prescribes strict penalties for those found guilty, including imprisonment and fines.

4.Fast-track courts : POCSO cases are to be heard in special courts to ensure a speedy trial.
5.Child -Friendly Procedures : The Act emphasizes child-friendly procedures during the legal process to protect the victim's rights and well-being.

6.Reporting : It is mandatory to report any suspected or known instances of child sexual abuse.






  Measures to protect children from Child abuse

 * Always keep an eye on who the children are leaving with.
    *Monitor any activities that involve photographing children, using photographs of children, using the internet, or using technology  devices.




   *CCTV cameras, as well as warning signs, must be installed in all strategic areas of schools.
    * Organise Awareness Sessions in schools.
    *All schools must install Complaint boxes to receive written complaints from the children about Child abuse.
*Aware children about good touch and bad touch.
  *Should provide trainings to the teachers to diagnose the psychological illness and reasons of the students and assist them wuth counselling.
    * Aware children about Child help line 1098.
