The Monkey and the Crocodile

Once upon a time, a clever monkey lived in a tree on the banks of a river. In the river lived a crocodile and his wife. The wife crocodile had a strange craving to eat a monkey's heart and asked her husband to catch the monkey for her.

The crocodile, being a good husband, couldn't refuse his wife's request. He approached the monkey and pretended to be friendly. "Dear Monkey, you live alone on this tree and must be bored. Why don't you come with me to the other side of the river? There are plenty of delicious fruits for you to enjoy."The monkey, being smart, was initially hesitant but eventually agreed. He jumped onto the crocodile's back, and the crocodile started swimming across the river.

Halfway through the journey, the crocodile revealed his true intentions. "My wife wants to eat your heart, and I am taking you to her.

"The clever monkey quickly thought of a plan. "Oh, dear crocodile, why didn't you tell me earlier? I left my heart back on the tree. If you take me back, I can fetch it for you."The crocodile, not very bright, believed the monkey and swam back to the tree. As soon as they reached the riverbank, the monkey jumped off the crocodile's back and climbed up to safety

.

The monkey then said, "You fool! How can anyone take out their heart and leave it behind? You have betrayed my trust, and now you will get nothing."The crocodile realized he had been outwitted and swam away, feeling foolish and ashamed.

Moral of the story: Presence of mind and quick thinking can save you from tricky situations.
