  Proud Pavo and Kind Sera

Once upon a time in a lush, green forest, there lived a beautiful peacock named Pavo. Pavo had the most magnificent feathers anyone had ever seen. They sparkled in the sunlight with vibrant shades of blue, green, and gold. Every day, Pavo would spread his feathers and strut around, showing off to the other animals.

One day, a wise old owl named Oren watched Pavo from a nearby tree. Oren noticed that while Pavo was admired for his beauty, he had become arrogant and vain. Pavo often mocked the other animals for their plain appearances and took great pride in being the center of attention. One afternoon, as Pavo was preening his feathers by a pond, a small, plain-looking sparrow named Sera approached him. "Pavo," Sera said softly, "you are indeed very beautiful, but beauty is not everything. Kindness and humility are also important."Pavo scoffed, "What do you know, little sparrow? You are plain and dull. No one admires you like they admire me."Sera simply smiled and flew away, leaving Pavo to his vanity.

A few days later, a terrible storm swept through the forest. The strong winds and heavy rain battered everything in their path. Pavo, with his large and heavy feathers, struggled to find shelter. His feathers, which had always been his pride, became soaked and weighed him down. Desperate and frightened, he sought help from the other animals, but they remembered his arrogance and hesitated to assist him.In his time of need, it was Sera who came to his rescue. Despite Pavo's past unkindness, Sera led him to a safe spot under a large tree where they waited out the storm together. When the storm finally passed, Pavo was humbled. He realized that his beauty had not helped him in a crisis, but the kindness of a friend had saved him.Grateful and ashamed of his past behavior, Pavo thanked Sera and apologized to the other animals.

From that day on, Pavo changed his ways. He still took pride in his beautiful feathers, but he no longer flaunted them arrogantly. Instead, he used his beauty to bring joy to others and treated every animal with kindness and respect.

Moral

True beauty comes from within. Vanity and arrogance can isolate us, but kindness and humility build lasting friendships and garner true admiration.
