             The Wise Old Deer

In a dense forest, there lived a wise old deer named Dharma. Dharma was respected by all the forest creatures for his intelligence and fairness. He often helped resolve disputes and guided the younger animals with his wisdom.

One day, a young deer named Kavi came to Dharma seeking advice. Kavi was known for his speed and agility, but he was also very proud and often boasted about his abilities to other animals. "Dharma, I've heard stories of a hidden meadow that has the greenest grass. I want to find it and prove that I am the fastest and the best," Kavi said.

Dharma listened patiently and then said, "Kavi, the path to the meadow is treacherous. It’s not just about speed but also about wisdom and caution. Remember, pride can often lead to one's downfall."Ignoring Dharma's advice, Kavi set off on his quest. As he raced through the forest, he felt invincible. He leaped over streams and dashed past bushes, thinking about how he would boast upon his return. However, as he neared the meadow, he encountered a deep and wide ravine. Determined to prove his worth, Kavi decided to jump across it. He ran as fast as he could and made the leap, but he underestimated the distance and fell short. Luckily, he managed to grab onto a branch and hung there, struggling to pull himself up.As he dangled precariously, Kavi thought about Dharma's advice. He realized that his pride had blinded him to the dangers Dharma had warned him about.

Kavi's strength was waning, and he began to fear for his life.Just then, Dharma appeared on the other side of the ravine. He had been watching Kavi from a distance, knowing that the young deer might get into trouble. Using his wisdom, Dharma found a safer path around the ravine and reached out to Kavi with a sturdy branch, helping him climb to safety.Kavi, humbled and grateful, thanked Dharma and apologized for his arrogance.

Dharma smiled and said, "Remember, Kavi, true strength lies not in boasting about one's abilities but in knowing one's limits and seeking wisdom. Pride can be our greatest enemy."From that day on, Kavi became a humble and wiser deer, sharing the lessons he learned with others and always remembering the wise words of Dharma.

  Moral:

*Pride can lead to one's downfall.

* True strength lies in humility, wisdom, and knowing one's limits.
